HOW DO YOU TREAT PEOPLE OF OTHER DENOMINATIONS?
By Greg Hooker
While the world around us is coming apart at the seams, we, the true Church should be banding together in love and respect for one another. Every person who is cleansed by the blood of Jesus through faith ought to lift up each other regardless of denominational ties and affiliations.
I have always believed that denominations, which were established by men - not God, have greatly harmed the cause of the mission that Christ has commissioned us to do. In the infant Church, all believers were as one. Today, however, we often argue over petty and insignificant things that in the scheme of eternity won’t amount to a “hill of beans”!
Don’t take this the wrong way, all of us should be rooted and grounded in the fundamentals of the faith, but to alienate our brothers and sisters in Christ over differences of beliefs that do not pertain to salvation by grace through faith apart from works, is to do harm and disservice to the cause of Christ.
The Devil loves to camp out in churches and discretely cause divisions to scatter the flock of God’s people. He is the master author of confusion. It’s no wonder the Spirit of the Lord has departed many churches. Jesus Christ is not going to abide in an environment where the Devil has been invited to and embraced.
Since we are so near the coming of Christ for His Church, let us resolve to love each other fervently, esteeming others better than ourselves. There is no place in God’s Church for pride and arrogance. We should lift each other up in prayer and lend a hand and shoe leather when our brothers and sisters are discouraged and wounded by the enemy.
All our little spats and quarrels will certainly be removed when we get to Heaven. Why not begin now? Christ is coming for a spotless bride without wrinkles. Lets not disappoint Him.
