WHEN IT’S THE DARKEST, JESUS SHINES THE BRIGHTEST
By Greg Hooker
When we look around at all the chaos, wickedness, and evil occurring in the world and our nation, it’s easy to get discouraged and depressed. Everywhere we see gloom, doom, and despair. That’s exactly what the Devil wants! Why? Because we have taken our eyes off of Jesus like Peter when he looked upon the troubled sea.
Yes the wickedness of this world is going to get worse. The Bible says much worse. But as God’s children we need to focus our attention on our Heavenly Father. He knows exactly what is and will happen. Nothing takes Him by surprise. His eyes are looking to and fro and be certain He is watching over His children that are His because we are birthed into His family as a result of faith in His Son, Jesus.
Now I’m not a pessimist, but I do know that every Word in the Bible is truth and every detail will occur just as God has spoken it. There are coming some dark days ahead according to Scripture. That’s an unchangeable fact. But when it’s the darkest is when Jesus Christ will be the brightest. We must focus on Him. He is in complete control and will not forsake, nor leave us. Our Heavenly Father will watch over and keep His children near to His heart. He paid a great price to adopt us into His family.
So watch for the Light of Christ to appear, and listen to the heartbeat of God. That’s where we will find rest and peace in this strange and sinful land. Look up my friends, your redemption draws nigh.
“Even so, come Lord Jesus.”
