NEVER GIVE UP
By Greg Hooker
The Christians duty is to never give up regardless of what lies ahead. Sadly I read posts every day of people who have “come to the end of their rope” so to speak. I’ve been there and you have too. But Gods Word has much to say about giving up.
Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Where are you getting your strength? Is it from the world? The world will drag you through misery and heartache. Are you getting your strength from a person or even yourself? Both will fail you. The only source to get strength to overcome all obstacles is from the Lord. He alone gives true strength. Seek Him with all your heart. Grab on to Him and say “I will not let you go until you bless me.”
Galatians - “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Are you weary and worn? Has the wind in your sails died down? We have all been there and experienced that! But God encourages us to not be weary in doing good. Why? Because one day we will reap the benefits of keeping on in the service of our Lord. Let it not be said of us we “fainted” and never got back up. The farmer will never finish plowing his field if he takes a rest every five minutes.
Luke 1:37 - “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
Within ourselves we cannot accomplish much if anything, but with God by our side there is no power in Heaven or Earth that can stop us - nothing! We serve a God that thrives on doing the impossible through those committed to Him. Did He not create Heaven, Earth and all that is therein in six days?
2 Chronicles 15:7 - “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.”
All of us like being rewarded. We have a great promise from our God that if we remain faithful He will reward us far beyond our imagination. These rewards are eternal. They will follow us to Heaven and beyond. No one can take them away. So lay up those treasures in Heaven.
John 12:35 - “Jesus wept.”
Luke 29:42 - “And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,”
Luke 22:44 - “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground”
