PERFECT PEACE
By Greg Hooket
Don’t wait for things to “magically” get better in your life else you will waste your life. Life will always be troublesome and hard. It has been that way since sin entered the world and will not change unto God calls us home. Rather, learn to live for the joy God has provided daily through the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Peace and real joy are not of this world, but through a close, intimate relationship through Christ. This is done through reading and meditating on Gods Word and through prayer and communing with the Father.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
So often (and I have been guilty of this) we stay focused on the negative issues in our lives and all that will be accomplished is ulcers, headaches, and heart attacks. This is exactly the place the Devil wants you to be, because when you are focused on the negative aspects of life, you are unable to realize the plans God is setting in motion that are positive and able to pick you up from the mirey pits of clay and mud. Listen to this Scripture,
“Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.” (John 16:33)
“Perfect peace” how? When our “mind[s]” are focused on the Lord. Jesus Christ “is” our peace, there is nothing else that can calm the angry soul like he who said “peace, be still.”
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
“For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
So don’t waste another day. Determine in your heart to go to the Prince of Peace daily and let Him full you with peace “that passes all understanding”.
“When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll;whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,“It is well, it is well with my soul.”
